I've got one mate, bought it last year for France, it was great combined with a sena headset. I think there's a winding road version one now, would have hung on til that came out had I known.

Yeah the 390lm is the new one with twisty road choice,  worth the extra imo - have got my eye on one myself :)

Kitcrazy - I started a thread last week about the 350lm vs rider v5. From what I can gather the 390lm is the best by far. And the same price as the 350lm. I have ecided that that is the one for me. Now I just have to decide if I want it this month or if I should use the dosh to have the Hirsh tuning kit fitted to my car. 250BHP sounds pretty tempting...

OO tho pricey I do like the idea of this. But does the price warrant moving smart phone sat nav over for it?

Review please

I toured a bit of Europe last year with my smartphone. It was a pain in the ass. The signal dropped out several times. Not what you need. And I love the idea of the on-line community with the Garmin basecamp software. Works with gloves on too  :woot :thumbup

Yep I suffer the gloves part and the dropping not been such a problem but using google maps and navigator on the actually phone I haven't been able to change the route to my liking very easy. I know it can be done on the pc but that isn't helpful if away from home.

Do you know if the garmin gives greater than normal instruction like degrees of bends etc. I doubt it is that good ;)

The maps are pretty accurate, but I don't think we are at degrees of bends yet. Your not likely to be looking at the sat-nav going round one anyway  :lol

There are loads of reviews for the 390 out there, but I was looking for a foccers opinion before I part with my dosh.

not had my 390 long still getting to know it but so far so good the curvy road setting is great keeps you off the motorsways and the lane assist is great for me as im useless and always get lost  :rolleyes very easy to pair up to your phone and headset.tracks upto 50 trips which is handy.trying to get to grips with basecamp so i can plan trips will see how this goes.
