a Kawasaki Z650 tailpiece and seat

Nice, but the best looking bit is the Z650 tail unit with 2/4 seat. But then, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Z650 fan  :D
The pipes look good there too.
If i had the money to be buying older bikes, I'd be wanting to do similar mods. Mostly contemporary kind of things from their day, plus handling, and maybe a little tuning.
My ultimate project would have been a Z650 with 750 barrels taken out to 810. A chap who used to work at a local bike dealer had this done to his, and it's something that I've wanted to do for donkey's years. Improve handling (I've seen one with RGV front and rear ends) and chassis strength, but retaining the standard look as far as bodywork/lines go. Alas, I never had either the money or skill to do such a thing.

Agree totally on the Z 650 tailpiece - took an age to find the right tank shape to go with it, then had to redo all the seat mountings ! But, very happy with the result. Classic and Motorcycle Mechanics did a little feature on it in 2002, very proud of what was achieved at a young age.

This is my latest project.....Now ready for mot

From the twin discs I'd guess it's a 900 (rather than a 750) - love those  :) :)

Changed a CV joint on the car.
Bastard youtube videos give the impression it’s a 10 minute job… well, I knew that wasn’t going to be the case ‘cos it takes me that long to get the car jacked up to my satisfaction, but it was a 4 hour of fight with corroded bolts, immovable nuts, retaining clips that wouldn’t budge, a buggered thread on the new stub axle and a couple of hundred ml of moly grease, half of which ended up over my hands, tools and the brake disc.
Finished just as daylight faded, haven’t had time to test drive it yet.. hopefully the weird clunking noises have now gone, but next time I’ll just pay someone else to do the job. The novelty of DIY on cars is wearing off now.

70 in number bikes!
of course we stuck to legal speed limits :D
as for age I couldn't possibly comment as some look older that they actually are, I'm 52 but haven't weathered well! (our oldest club member is 77!)

Changed the front discs and pads on the Mrs Mondeo. No seized bolts, buggered threads or even misplaced tools.

From opening the garage to shutting the garage all done in 1hr  :D

Took it for a drive to bed them in and cleaned out the shopping trolley's engine Italian style

Mrs always says it drives better after I've driven it  :lol

Frosties/Red98, cheers guys!    :2guns

FWIW, the car has improved… a bit.
Think I should have changed the whole halfshaft, but that looked as if it’d be an even more awkward job. This’ll have to do, it’ll probably fail the next MOT for rust anyway.

A few years ago I had to do a ball joint on a mini we had,I knocked the day off work to do the job in the morning and go to the caravan and camping show when I'd finished.Did the job in no time, cleaned up,hurried my wife up and set off really chuffed, made it to the motorway where we proceeded to dig a trench for about 1/2 a mile shitting myself when the wheel came adrift because I hadn't tightened the big nut up properly,by the time we'd paid to get us off the motorway and get us and the mini home we could have paid the most expensive mechanic in the world and still have had some change! :'(

Got T boned on my MT09 yesterday,  an arrogant stupid blind bitch in a Range Rover ignored the give way and drove straight onto the roundabout right into the left side of me.  As I was lying on the floor wondering what the foc had just happened she walked up to me , looked at me and said " you don't seem hurt much, I"ll move my car",  Then I just heard a  man shout at her " leave your frigging car where it is".
Next thing I knew I was in back of ambulance on my way to hospital.
Got of lightly I think, mild concussion from my head hitting floor, no broken bones but left knee and ankle look like a pair of turnips.
Helmet is buggered with massive scrapes along right side, no idea about bike yet, it was recovered by a local garage.
If it wasn't for my helmet and decent boots and armour in my leathers I would have been a injured a lot worse.

If it was a hospital trip, the police must have been called. Get the details from them, witnesss statements etc, and do whatever you can to make sure she is prosecuted. Get an independent (not one associated with your insurance company) solicitor on the case.

Really pleased you havent got any serious injuries

It was a u/tube video I looked at before taking off the gearbox sprocket,"just tap the socket while pulling on the bar and hey presto!" what a crock of shit, they'd probably took that nut off 10 times before showing the video,WANKERS!!!
