Nice weather, blue skies and a bit of a bimble in my no 1 toy -  my Schweizer S300 CBi - it's an awesome way to get around and see the country, and the main reason why my bike riding has suffered (but I do love it and spent a lot of time getting my pilots licence - a lifelong dream).

My boss has a Rotorway heli, and shares a Sportscruiser. I need to persuade him to take me for a bimble!!

Sorry, I meant Conington, near Fenstanton, just to the west of Cambridge. You need to call ahead at Main Hall Farm to get landing permission, ask for Charlie Papworth.

If you plan to do it one weekend, let me know, I'll see if I can get the OK for you to have a look around (should be fine).

Main Hall Farm is a farm strip (big surprise there). Grass. Quite a long taxiway. Used to be home to YLAC's HQ until they went bust, currently home to e-Go Aeroplanes. www.e-go.me

Great picture, you youngest does not look to impressed with your riding  He looks like he is thinking "I wish he would go a bit faster" 
If he is anything like mine, the first time I decked the pegs when he was on the back, all I got was "You only did it once"

He was so relaxed he spotted Jochen at the side of the track. He definitely didn't enjoy going at sane speeds. We passed a lot of very surprised/shocked bikes and cars that weekend.


Here he is behind me again in 2012 - he'd grown so much I had to give him my leathers (and use an old set myself).

back down to earth  .....ordered a carb repair kit for my suzuki gt 250 x7.

As I was working good Friday and I was in charge, I decided to give the boys an "extended" tea break  .


I spent my three hours giving the car a right good clean. Although I forgot my chamois, so I will maybe give it another quick wash and dry so I can clay bar, polish and wax it.


Oh, it smelt lovely on the way home last night. Lets see how long that lasts

Drove back from Snowdonia to Bristol in the cage with missus   , went via the A470 and Brecon , great roads , lots of bikes about .

Took a ride out yesterday with my wife and our son (me on the Aprilia, Liz on her Fazer 1000 and son on his Fazer 600).


Went down the Fosse way to Stow in the Wold (massive traffic queues into Moreton and Stow) and then across to Cheltenham, to Ross on Wye and onto Goodrich Castle (A40 Gloucester to Ross is a nice curvy bit of road). Spent a good few hours there and then came back through Gloucester, Evesham and Stratford. All in, around 220 nice easy miles. Lovely day.

Knocked some new wheel bearings into the FJ12 ratfighter, I guess FJ's are a little heavy to stoppie hence the mullered bearings!
