Indicator issues
« on: 17 January 2014, 08:48:11 am »
Hi guys
Just wondering if you guys might be able to help with a little issue i have.

My bike was laid down by the previous owner, damage not to bad. Dented tank etc.

But along with that, both front indicators were missing. So i bought another set and installed them.

They worked fine, but lately , they dont. Fuses are fine etc, no wiring shorts that i can find. Thing is, once i pull the fuse to check it, and place it back the indicators work again.

what should i look for?

I remember having a strange fault like this on my S2 tail lights; it turned out to be no more than a poor connection at a plug / socket. A clean up and some WD40, and all was well.

Are your new indicators the same as the originals, or are they LED types?

new generic aftermarket ones. Running normal bulbs . I imagine they would be pulling the same amps etc.

I will have a look at the plug

If the only thing you disturbed was the fuse, make sure both connections are tight on the blades, also it is possible for the bridge part of the fuse to have a fracture at either end that is not obvious at first look, so don't take it for granted it is not the fuse just because it's not blown, I have had this on a car with the blade type fuses
