Gear change lever
« on: 16 January 2014, 08:56:01 pm »
I'm experiencing a very stiff gear selection,  this has only just happened on my ride home tonight.  Does anyone know if there is a bearing on the pivot point that connects to the foot peg?

Thanks In advance

Yes there is on the foot hanger, have to take the foot hanger off as there is a Allen key bolt at the back that holds the foot peg and gear lever in place, once off you can lube the bush inside the gear lever. Hope that helps.

Thanks again, a bush rather than a bearing, suits me. I'll have to wait till Tuesday before I can find the time to sort it.

You should get instant relief by spraying with wd40. If it doesn't help, your problem is probaby not there. If it does, you can strip,  clean and polish in your own time.
