quick question about k and n s
« on: 04 January 2014, 10:47:38 am »
Hi there. Just about to fit my k an n filter and was wondering if the covered end goes at the top or the bottom.  Haven't looked at the air box yet and I'm sure all will become clear but I just wanted a quick answer before i started. Thanks all.

Only think it'll fit one way.

Yeah- they only fit one way, besides, it's obviously exactly the same size shape and design as the one that's already in their so as soon as you lift the airbox lid you will see yourself straight away which end is up!

Thanks for the help guys. Daft question I know just don't remember seeing a sealed end on the pics of the oem filter. Still thanks for the peace of mind. Time to get grubby :)

Sorry about the offtop. Do you rejet the carbs after putting kn filter? Been toying with this idea for a while but someone said i would need to play with the carbs afterwards?

No you don't need to. I didn't, and have had no problems. In fact quite an improvement. Apparently they run a bit rich with the OEM filter anyway.
