TRANSFORM HEADLIGHTS
« on: 14 December 2013, 06:27:55 pm »
I bought my 2001 fazer 6 weeks ago and was very pleased with it untill i rode at night.

Headlights what headlights i thought i had forgot to turn them on may as well used a candle.

So i sat about improving them and noticed that where headlight bulbs sit in lens each as a small rectangle hole next to them.

After carefully measuring rectangle hole and days weeks reserching on web i had a plan.

I went to my local BMW car showroom and bought 2 of there led bulbs.

These bmw bulbs at front are the same size as a 5p coin and have 7 cree ice white bulbs and the back of them is recantangle and fit perfectly into the rectangle holes in lens.

I cut the fazer pilot light wire spliced it and fixed to both bmw led bulbs and removed standard fazer pilot bulb and holder.

The leds work the same way as the standard fazer pilot light.

I know have on low beam and 2 led bulbs flood and throw from lights approx 15-20 ft on road a head excellent love this bike.

FIRST PHOTO IS THE 2 LED AS YOUR PILOT LIGHTS AND SECOND 2 LEDS AND LOW BEAM.http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/jamescb1/hhh017_zps3e19dd2e.jpghttp://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/jamescb1/hhh016_zpsa05a7b2b.jpghttp://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/jamescb1/hhh017_zps3e19dd2e.jpg

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to know more about this.

Any more details on the type of bulbs?  Any pictures showing how they are installed?

hi

bulb installation is very simple as explained in listing they fit perfectly into the rectangle holes in lens.

i only bought 2 bulbs so dont want to take everything apart just to photo them.

bulbs are 7 cree led  for bmw saloons.

Christ they're bloody good fella. Any particular BMW saloon or did you just ask for a set of side lamps?

A2 corridor into London..............reckon that's about 120 bikes who'd have a ride out out for that. How many mugs you got & how big's you're kettle. Ooooh, bacon butties aswell  :lol  - best start prepping the wife, this Saturday ok??

I just recently did the "normal" both lights on mod! Honestly, it doesn't make sod all difference to how far ahead you can see on dark roads, so this is really quite interesting!
I would also like to see the pattern the lights form looking ahead from the seat.
Thanks

I beg to differ, all you've done is show a picture of a beam of light.
This is a forum designed to give people detailed help, and although you've taken the time to show us the end result, most people, especially ones very new to biking or with zero or very minimal hands on experience would've preferred to see some photo's of the fitment instead, but you seem to be avoiding questions by giving daft answers.  :wall

definitely a lot of brightness there!  i was looking at bmw bulb lists and couldn't find the bulb that you've fitted.  On the rhs light, the rectangle slot is clearly there, on the lhs, it looks like its covered by the shroud.

Forgive my ignorance, by pilot light you mean those stupid little sidelight things, not the main bulbs?

I too would be most interested in seeing what you did in more detail. The lights as standard are not great are they? I changed my bulbs to Osrams and whilst this helped considerably, it could still be better.

No need to beg

I have gave very straight easy to understand details and  what are you trying to suggest when you write AVOIDING QUESTIONS.

Maybe if you understood english better you would be able to understand the very simple way that i have fitted these leds so that even a child could fit them. :foc
