HID best mod yet
« on: 02 December 2013, 09:19:51 am »
Just fitted HID head lights, it has transformed night riding. Other road users are able to see you better even in daylight.
Best mod for winter.

Agreed. Best safety mod I have ever made to any bike I have owned.

Huh? My Fzs blinds oncoming traffic and is brilliant even on standard, its like daylight with fullbeam on.
It's pointless me changing them.

Have you got projectors fitted or just a linked H1and H4 hid .ive just got the H1 hid and without projectors just throws the light all over the place and is not really any better

Those are all Thous. Much better headlamps as standard. The FZS600 boxeye headlamps are well and truly shite though.

I'm glad you mentioned the projector lamps as I have them on my R6 and was going to fit a HID unit, however, I've been made aware of this issue.
I have hi powered incandescent bulbs 100w / 60w these get me seem, but difficult to see. If you get the gist?

Any solutions?

If you have crappy refletors, then there is very little you can do with the bulbs that can improve things. You might have to consider fitting running lights instead.

Be careful with the 100Ws. The wiring isn't up to it and will eventually burn out.

Just ordered H4 Bi xenon set up with projectors off Evil bay and will fit to a spare headlight I bought and see if this sought a out the light problem.

I had a set of HID bulbs on my fazer 1000 but I found the beam very concentrated with no spread, I had a set of bi xenon off eBay, one ballast lasted a couple of weeks, the other lasting a but longer, the kit I bought had a digital ballast.
