Always favoured Michelin unless bikes come fitted with another brand.. Have knocked back decent enough bikes wearin the Maxxis label tho..

I've had plenty of Maxxis tyres, nowt wrong with 'em. Got Diamonds on my FZ1, and they're great!! Had Supermax on two of my Fazer 600's, and kept up with the Litre boys on a ride out on the twisties. I got 5 thou average out of a rear Supermax's, 1/2 that from the FZ1 on Diamonds.

I suppose it's a matter of taste, but I can't believe people knock such an underrated brand of tyre just because it's cheap!

Therefore completely pointing out the reason they're of no use to the originaly posted question!

Maxxis aren't knocked because they're cheap, they're knocked because they are not as good as other brands on the market!

I wasn't disputing the op question, just the slagging off maxxis tyres get. (i should work for them with the ammount of support I give them.)

I got similar mileage out of other brand tyres too, so it's not the rubber, probably my riding tbh. I only got 3k out of a rear pr3, and the same with a bt21. So maxxis aren't that bad really!

Call me daft but i preferred my old beat up "michellin macadams" to my pirelli diablo rosso 2's......no idea why......it's just weird.

I got Maxxis Supermaxx on my FZS600 Foxeye & i have more confidence in them than the BT21's that were on it when i got it,used to have them on my XJ900 Diversion

+1 for the Metzeler Z6, currently at 8k for the pair, wearing evenly and I reckon the rear will do the same again. Compared to the BT21 they last longer, wear far more evenly and consistently have provided more grip in greasy or wet conditions. Just my 2p..........

I had some Dunlop thing on the front of mine when I bought it, and a Pirelli something or other on the back. both were a bit "meh" and didnt really work together.

Ive now got Michelin Pilot Road 2's on front and rear, and after just under 1k, I think they are great tyres.
