Since I have owned the bike I've had it when it has been laid up for a while , or sometimes going up hill , or occasionally accelerating hard   , I have done 12k on mine so i'm guessing if it was a serious issue it would have shown up by now , I just keep the oil topped up as high as I can on the site glass and change the oil & filter every year .

Mine only does it occasionally , several times a year so I don't worry about it , if it was doing it every time I rode it I would be concerned , it could be a faulty sensor , but more knowledgeable people on this forum than me hopefully will give you advice .

It's an oil LEVEL light and will flash unless you keep the oil to at least the maximum line...

They all do that Sir.

Even if you fill it after an oil change with the volumes the manuals states, the oil light can come on like this.  If you fill to just below the sight glass, it will stop it happening.  There have been a few posts like this as its a known Fazer 1000 issue.

:agree  Always kept mine midway between the max line and the top of the sight glass. Made gearshifts much smoother too.
