Synchronising throttle bodies
« on: 27 September 2013, 10:27:38 am »
Jeez that was one fiddly job that took 3 evenings  :eek

Evening 1 Remove fairing panels and tank (pop new air filter in) and gaze in wonderment at the sprawling mass of wires and tubes.

Evening 2 After looking on FZ1OA site at work earlier in the day, find a picture of the bits that matter.
Then attempt job. Eventually get it sorted with lots of swearing and burning fingers.

Evening 3 Because it was all too hot to touch last night, disconnect the carbtune and put everything back together!

It was never like that on the 600 or gen1 thou :lol

I found shorter screwdriver was "easier"!

The thing that makes it more awkward is that the screw housings are pointing downwards slightly.
The yammie manual says to do it with the tank installed, couldn't work out how you could do it like that so did it with the tank hinged back and propped open.

Here's the pic borrowed from fz1oa.com

The synch hoses are marked, just remove the black plastic connectors and join these hoses to your carbtune hoses using the supplied connectors. Don't forget to rejoin them afterwards!

Maybe that tool will work or maybe it won't :lol

The book says to synch everything to no 3 cylinder. I suspect this is because you can't get to no3 screw!

When I started, no1 was way out and the other 3 weren't too bad. Adjusting 1 seems to effect the others so it was a bit of trial and error but suddenly they were all in line so I said job well done and went in for a beer!
