Just bare in mind you will still be in Hurricane season in October if you decide Dominican Republic. Cape Verde Islands ?? weather should be great,  nice people. May I suggest the old Google route. October/November time Dubai could be worth a look??just starting to cool down a bit.

October is at the end of the hurricane season.

Try the Blau Varedero hotel in Cuba. Lovely (and relatively cheap) all inclusive holiday. I booked through Virgin Holidays when I went and did the Havana 2 day trip on the way home.

Officially, the Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30, but as the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) notes:
Sorry but worked in Hurricane alley for to many years at sea, if it is not a hurricane it is a tropical storm.

Ok, worried now. Going from the Cape Verde islands to St Lucia by 13m catamaran, not keen on hurricanes!! :eek

Pop down to your local INDEPENDENT Travel agent. I got a week in Kephalonia for 2 for £550 last year, booked a couple of days before we went. The've probably got access to all the deals.

I have to recommend http://www.travelcounsellors.co.uk/gb/leisure/

Used them early in the year to plan our honeymoon, cost nothing. Got great rates from them and everything went without a hitch. Flying out on Sunday  :D
