Throttle snap back
« on: 21 April 2014, 10:02:15 am »
I've put my carbs back on but the throttle is a little sticky. It does snap back sometimes, and others not. What do I need to adjust, or will it sort itself out once it's used daily again?

I tried the cable without it making much difference. I'm now at the limit of adjustment so not sure what to do

If it's adjusted too tight it won't snap back. Try slackening it off

It seems to be ok now - I think just maybe with not being used in a month.

Is the throttle being fowled by the bar end weight in any way?
Did you change the grips during this process- it's easy to get a drop of glue between the throttle tube and the bar causing it to stick!
Some say...

Nope and nope. Didn't touch them, or go near them.

Just think it's because it's been nearly 4 weeks since used so needed freeing up a bit. It was only when turning the throttle all the way - it snapped from all other positions, but now at fully turned it's snapping back too so all sorted.

Thanks for help and suggestions guys.

It may seem OK now, but have you checked the inners (particularly at the bottom end) for fraying?
Or lubricated them?
