When I was reversed into last year I dealt with the guys insurance direct and had my bike fixed at the dealer where I bought it
No solicitors involved but I didn't claim any injuries because the guy who hit me was a stand up guy and admitted fault when he could of made out I hit him

ta but it will only capture images on my property as the bike is in a wooden lean to at the back of the house 

I might use mine as a home security camera set to motion detect and have it look at the bike through the dinning room window

The new Garmins have a fused auto sensing voltage step down converter built into the power cable
 you can go straight to battery or take a live from a more convenient point (lights etc)..
