Such a luxury to be able to ride a bike these days......cost me about £800 to get through my test.

I was lucky i got mine when i did & enjoyed a few years of riding before becoming a dad......because bow i just cant get the time to go out........folk are leaving marriage and kids later and later so that they can better their careers........so they cant be a biker for a few years and then in their 30's maybe have to give it up.......so i can see 40'ish as the ideal time for getting the freedom to get out on 2 wheels........but thats only if you already have a bike licence......thise that havent got one by 40's i dont think will ever get one.....its not born again.....its never born.........once all yous oldies are passed it i can see the industry having big problems.

Sorry mate i dont know anything about those drovers tracks but i just find ancient trails a little bit fascinating. There is a lost Roman road in Pembs, brother in law was showing me roughly where it dissapears from site on its way from Carmarthen direction and then i spent ages trawling through google Earth........trouble is after a long time staring at google earth youll start to see what you want to see rather than what is actually there.......sure you know that very dry periods tend to show these old routes up more.

Ill have to look up that programme with Gryff you mention. 8)

Anyway im 5 foot 11 and about 17 stone......what sort of size were you talking when this fit you?

Hey Dave, just reading your comment about the pilgrims way......being in pembs I know of it much I don't know a great deal about it except for of course they were off to St Davids......anyway I think I've walked a part of it from my wifes work...I dropped her off once at the vets she works at and I knew there was a path down the side & I ended up on what I think is a part of the pilgrims way from Haverfordwest to St.Davids....it was impromptu and I soon got dehydrated with no supplies so I turned back after an hour or so....there was I big marker stone on the path that looked pretty ancient, maybe about 1.5 metres out of the ground........will have to look into it more as I didn't quite realise how far and wide people would come from.............anyway that's about it from me.....haven't done any bloody riding.....all those nice roads and the bike is stuck in the shed.....facebook even reminds me now of memories and pics of rides gone by as if to just rub it in...........just had no time. :(

Some pics....can of "healthy" soup for scale only :b

Obviously i dont eat much of it....couldnt get these ones round my waist but my legs got in........difficult to judge on the length....they are designed to go over the tops of bike boots anyway so as long as they werent riding up over the tops of your boots i imagine theyd be fine.........but if you wear shorty boots then they are a nuiscance flapping around.

Noggy, I could be interested! What sort of price are you after for them? May be able to come and take a look as I think you're based in Pembrokeshire & I'm in south wales, cheers Andrew.

Yeh im in Haverfordwest, you are welcome to take a look if you like.

I got them from Adeejay on her a while back i think he had his own company doing them and he sold some of us foccers a load on the cheap.....the ones ive been using are the only thing ive worn on the bike for the last couple of years and theyve been great.....light blue denim & real good quality......ive got fat legs too & i fitted into them which is a rarity for me & jeans these days......very dissapointing when you cant find out if youll fit a 34 waist because you cant get the bastards over your thighs :lol .

Ill go grab them out the spare room and take some pics.

Oh & the best bit......i only want £20 for them which is Aldi money, nowt against the Aldi jeans but for quality there is no comparison.

Could the decreased top speed be down to the MT10 not having a front fairing in comparison to the old FZS?

Or maybe that they have had to re tune the R1 lump so much for the lower down grunt that theyve lost the top speed?

I approve that the MT10 & the Tracer are so popular..........makes it more likely i'll some day get my mitts on an original MT09

I need to keep this thread going these bikes excite me.......probably as i am getting in jack shit worth of riding this year...........so if they arent great tourers that doesnt really bother me.

Get some more pics up Anutz, we need pics. :useless

I recall Punkstig saying he had an srad & it was supreme and he would have another.......but he just got another thundercat..........but anyway....are the early srad carb models the best ones to go for????

The thing that entices me about the 750 is that it is the same weight as a 600 so whilst having more power it should be as flickable and so is therefore in my book both better than the 600 & the 1000.....a basic view ok but there we go.

It is true that there is no such thing as the perfect bike.....my 600 was a good all rounder but sometimes lacked excitement, the thou was powerful but too heavy....my trx handles a dream & has lovely low down oomph with character but runs out of puff.

Still want to try one o these 750's though....ive got the itch.

Couldn't go anywhere, still nursing a concussion headache, black eye and bruising after last weekends low speed tumble. :'( :'( :'(

FFS all my tumbles bar one have been under 30Mph or someone hitting me when stopped.

The only high speed one (70mph) one I ever had, I got up and walked away without even a foccing bruise.

Sorry to hear about your off Unfazed

Do you know this guy by any chance?

I've got a mint condition Airhawk Cruiser-r cushion that i'm considering flogging.

Since becoming a dad i am finally of the realisation that my rides aren't going to be long enough to get a sore arse in the first place & when i get to in future i'll be picking a bike with a naturally comfy seat.

I used to manage fine on my FZS600 i could go 150 miles without a sore arse........then i got an FZ1 & suddenly this dropped to 50 miles........i always thought the FZS1000 was about as comfy as you can get but i dont deny your pain, if you are feeling it you are feeling it.

Airhawk certainly helps....the FZ1 was extreme for me & i reckon it didnt double the comfort but certainly it did by about 3/5ths........stick it on an already comfy bike & then who knows could be the answer.

Make sure you follow the instructions & dont put too much air in....it shouldnt be a bouncy castle you should sink into it rather than roll about on top of it.

Odd that a thief would take the trouble to put it on its centre stand.
Also to add insult to injury it has been slapped with a parking fine  :eek

Gentleman thief perhaps?.......even thiefs appreciate a good centre stand when they see one. :)

I used to have to shower before going to bed (as well as my earlier shower) before the mighty Bum Wipes came along but now i can get my fat head down secure in the knowledge that my arse is as clean as my teeth....

It was a revalation!!!! :b
