« on: 07 March 2013, 08:55:25 pm »tried to put my new battery on, and it does not fit, tried all ways no chance, the shop says it is the right one, but its smaller and wider, so getting a refund, but that means another week with no bike, so may aswell do the exup, and oil change over the weekend, got some of them bright bulbs to put on to.

« on: 07 March 2013, 08:29:52 pm »Yes found it today, it is venhill, they are doing replacement cables for the exups, not sure if it includes our one. I am going to give them a ring over the weekend, as the pevious posts on here said they were not very good , and stopped making them. It was advertised in the mag a few months ago, so i would presume it is new!!

« on: 04 March 2013, 08:37:58 pm »I think we might be in luck with these, i was reading in classic machanics, there is a company making exup cabels for the older exups, and i think the early r1, im at work at the mo, so will go though the mag when i get home, and post later or tommorow.

Was there, did not think to bring the phone to contact you while i was there, doh, a good day though, got a nice jacket, went up covert garden after. Will try to get to one of the ride outs in march or aprill, There is a nice ride up in hertfordshire /essex , great dunmow,b184 up to saffon walden,then across to the A 10 , where theres a nice cafe, quite a few bikes there.

I have to disagree. There are, indeed, many Nanny State intrusions which I will (and have) objected to, however just because someone has been driving for X many years and hasn't had an accident or got points on their licence doesn't mean that their skills are current and up to the requirements of what is needed these days.
Grahamm I think the only requirement needed, either these days or in any other period is the ability to set off and arrive without either having or inadvertently causing an accident. What more can you ask? As for eyesight tests and medicals I already said above that I can see the sense in those.
