For Sale & Wanted / Gen 1 FZS 1000 R6 Shock Conversion for Sale
« on: 14 March 2020, 06:34:31 pm »
I've just removed the R6 Shock and Dog Bones from the FZS 1000 that I'm breaking.
I've already got an R6 Shock on my bike so not much point in me keeping this.

Looks to be in good condition but don't know how long it's been on the bike so selling for only £95 as I can't give any idea of mileage or age.Comes with everything that you can see in the photo's, so shock, dog bones, bolts, washers, etc....

No problem Trebus.

Cheapest UK spec headlight I can find on ebay is £170, so how does £120 for mine sound?
That's £50 less than the next cheapest I can find.
I'm in Worthing,  West Sussex so your welcome to come and collect or I can send via Courier for an additional cost?

28
Just brought a 2003 accident damaged Gen1 Fazer 1000 as I needed various bits for my bike and this seemed the cheapest option.
Fairing is beyond repair and I've taken the front brake calipers and exup valve for mine so far.

Headlight is all intact and appears in good condition as does switch gear, engine, carbs, etc.
So if anyone is after anything in particular drop me a message and I'll give you a price on what ever parts your looking for ?

For going to be stripping it over the next week or two and then list the bits on Ebay.
Obviously happy to offer you guys first refusal and a much cheaper rate than what will be going on Ebay.

I may be being simple but could you not just buy a standard link pipe and have that exhaust in the regular position??
No. This system is a little unusal as it has a large mounting plate that runs nearly the length of the back of the can. I'm assuming this aids in stability with it being higher up the bike ?

For Sale or Swap.
Micron, Road Legal (BSAU Stamped) Carbon Fibre High Level Exhaust, Link Pipe and all required brackets and spacers.
Looking to Sell or Swap this exhaust that came with the bike when I bought it. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the High Level systems and would prefer an aftermarket system that sits in the standard location / height. That's why I'm up for a swap or sale. If it's a swap then I'd be looking for something of a similar quality and condition. If its a sale, it's difficult to put a price on as I've yet to find any similar examples for sale second hand. So if I say £150 as a rough guide but I'm happy to be flexible and consider sensible offers.
If looking for a swap I live in Worthing, West Sussex and work at Gatwick Airport so can meet at various points along the South Coast.

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Wanted: much bigger screen for my FZS1000
« on: 08 December 2016, 06:57:24 pm »
I've got a Givi Touring Screen that I took of my Gen 1 before selling it.

I bought it off another Forum Member at the begining of the year. Think I paid about £50 for it at the time.
It's got a few minor marks from flies and the odd stone, etc but it makes a hell of a differance at motorway speeds. I was going to stick it on Ebay in the New Year along with the Engine Bars, Alloy Levers and Givi rack that I removed before it sold.

If you like the look of it your welcome to make me an offer.

For Sale & Wanted / Blue 2001 Gen 1 Fazer 1000 For Sale.
« on: 12 November 2016, 06:55:35 pm »
This is not advertised anywhere else at the minute as I'm still kinda in two minds about getting rid of it.

I'm based in Worthing, West Sussex and would recomend that if anyone is interested then they come and view the bike.

So here's a link to my original posts on here which kinda detail the bikes history and evolution since I first bought it.
http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,19427.0.html

It's got 28,000mls on the clock, MOT expires 30th of July 2017.
Both Tyres, chain and sprockets are good with plenty of life left in them.
It's got a Hagon Rear Shock that has recently been rebuilt by Hagon at their factory so is spot on.
I rebuilt the forks with new oil and seals at the begining of the year.
It has a full set of Hell Blue Braided Brake lines recently fitted and of course fresh brake fluid.
One off comfort seat with leather cover.
Larger Givi Touring Screen fitted but also have a lower Blue screen.
Black Engine Bars
The Bike has had the AIS removed and been Ivanised.
Recent full service with Plugs, Oil, Pipercross air filter and fresh antifreeze.
Stainless Steel Exhaust System (so no more Exup valve to worry about), stainless exhaust studs fitted and a Beauwolf end can.
Givi rear rack (Top Box Not Included) and standard Blue Grab handles so can be returned to standard if preferred.
Two keys and original owners pack.
There's also probably some other bits I've forgot but you get the idea.

Anyway I'd be looking for around £2395 as it stands or £2000 in standard (or as close to standard) as I can get it, i.e. without the extras that easily bolt off.

Reason for considering the sale is that a mate is giving up biking and has offered me his bike at a price I'm struggling to say no to, especially as his is more touring focussed and I have a few trips planned next year which his bike would be much better suited to.

Just a thought, but if your simply after a colour change you could probably save yourself a fair bit of money by simply having your originals powder coated or even anodised ?
I've not had anything anodised for years so not sure of costs nowadays but powder coating you should see some change out of £50 I would think, especially if you want Black as it could be done with any number of other jobs the coater is likely to be doing.

Thanks RMT1983. The part is only $3.78 which is no problem but at $56.99  :eek that they want to post it to the UK I think I'll get the wire wool out and see if I can clean this one up a bit.

Do you live on the moon???!!!???

Potage to the UK -

Priority International Shipping with Tracking - $7.99
Average 4-8 business days transit time

Its only express shipping that is mental on costs.................

Not sure what to tell you ?
Stuck in my full address, postcode, etc, got to the check out bit and the postage / shipping was $56.99 which is why I didnt bother  :\

Thats fantastic. Thanks for your help.

I genuinely spent the over an hour this afternoon going through each page on their web site trying to find that so well spotted.
Unfortunately the pipe is out of stock but have ordered the two o rings so I can get it re-assembled and back and the road.

« on: 17 September 2016, 04:56:52 pm »
Can anyone help with finding the part numbers for the pipe and two orings in the pictures below ?

I've been through Fowlers web site and parts diagrams but can't seem to find this pipe or the orings on any of them.

The sump pan is from a 2001 Gen 1 Fazer 1000.  The pipe is an oil pipe with an or ring at each end although as you can see from the photo's one o ring is missing, assumed perished and disintegrated and the other one doesnt look in much better nick.
Ideally I'd like to replace the pipe and both o rings but if not, just the o rings will suffice.
So if anyone can assist with part numbers or provide any links to suppliers or diagrams ,etc I'd be gratefull as I can find nothing that matches on Fowlers.
Thanks

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Front Discs for FZS Fazer 1000 04
« on: 05 September 2016, 03:26:47 pm »
To be honest Fuzzy I did'nt cover that sort of mileage each week.
Mine was the occasional run to and from work and regular ride outs so I probably put an averidge 150 miles a week mine at the most. But as a I say, during my ownership I never noticed any adverse wear or negative effect on the braking but your weekly 400 miles is definately more than I would have covered.

I had a set of the Chinese Brake disks (looked the same as the ones in the link above, but from a different seller) on my CBR 929 Fireblade and my old Aprillia Tuono and they where great. Matted with a set of EBC pads I never had an issue with either bikes.

Be interesting to see what the dyno reveals.  I have dyno charts from a Fazer with those headers and the dip in the power curve is very noticeable.  I'm happy that you don't feel anything amiss with yours but I would never claim that Ivanising would overcome inherent faults in the design of a header system. :)

Thats not what I said at all so please show a little courtesy to others and step away from the condescending remarks.

I never claimed that Ivanising would resolve anything, I simply stated what set up I was running and that MY bike was set up properly without any negative impact upon performance.
The OP asked for comments on peoples experiance with removal of the EXUP system. I provided detail of my experiance, the fact it might differ from yours is simply something that the OP could, if they wished, use to consider their options and make an informed desicion.
I'm making no sweeping claims just commenting on my experiance so why don't you try a similar approach rather than the "this is my opinion and I'm therefore right" approach ?

I have a straight through set of stainless downpipes on my Gen1 which I bought off of another Forum member and don't have any issues.

What make? :)

Don't know for sure I'm afraid as it was bought second hand but it looks like a Black Widow System to me

The flat spot from the cheaper EXUP-less replacement systems is very noticeable and impossible to tune out.

I'd disagree with that I'm afraid. I have a straight through set of stainless downpipes on my Gen1 which I bought off of another Forum member and don't have any issues.
Granted my bike has been Ivanized and has a performance filter, etc but the acceleration is smooth througout the rev range. In my experiance the Gen 1 can work perfectly well without an Exup Valve but it needs to be set up properly.

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Gen 1 FZS 1000 CUSTOM Seat For Sale
« on: 22 July 2016, 08:02:15 pm »
Nice seat but a little pricey  :rolleyes

Not really when you consider a standard second hand one is normally somewhere around the £80 mark and even those don't come up often as a quick E-bay search would prove.  :rolleyes
Just for an aftermarket seat cover without fitting your looking at starting price of £50 for something halfway decent........

For Sale & Wanted / Gen 1 FZS 1000 CUSTOM Seat For Sale
« on: 19 July 2016, 04:06:22 pm »
As I've just made myself a comfort seat there's little point in keeping this so being offered to Forum members first before I stick it on ebay.

As you can see, its in good used condition with Blue piping and "Fazer" printed in Blue on the Seat. To me it looks as though it might have been reduced in height over standard but I can't say for sure as the seat came with the Bike so have no idea of the full spec or who made the custom cover I'm afraid.

Looking for offers around £120 + P&P which would be around £15 for a courier delivery within the UK. Scotland, some parts of Wales or Ireland would be more but I'd need a post code to provide a fixed price.

Got hold of a cheap second hand seat that had a small tear in the cover.

So decided to make myself a new "Comfort" Seat  :)
Strpped the old cover off

Then marked out where I wanted to cut the foam.

Made the cut

Started to then rebuild it with new softer foam.

Then used a pair of thick ladies tights to stretch over the new foam and hold it all in place.

Then a layer of smoothing foam bonded over the top of it all.

Loosly fitted the new cover.

Then tensioned it and stapled it all down.

Fairly pleased with it for my first attempt at this sort of job  8)
