If you are serious about photography you will find out soon you need more and different lenses.
Based on that I would buy a system that allows you to get best lenses cheaper. Because the lenses are expensive anyway.
The really cheap route is to get Pentax DSLR body. It is well know fact you can buy plenty of really old lens and use it on a modern Pentax DSLR. The reason is Pentax K mount has been used from 1975 till now:

The second route I would choose is Canon DSLR body. I think Canon do the best cameras so congrats on your choice
Canon lenses are more expensive than Pentax, but some lenses are better too.
With all my respect all other brands offer not too many lenses like Samsung, Panasonic etc. or the lenses value for money is less like Nikkon, Sony etc.
