General / new home build regs - light fittings ??
« on: 01 March 2012, 10:16:59 am »
very puzzled, went to a friends house last night, and 2 of their bulbs had blown, when i asked where the spares were, they said that they have to order them off the internet as they are 3prong bayonet fittings, as its a new build house (about 5yrs old i think) - given all the new houses being built, you would have thought tesco and such would be teeming with them - but i have never heard of them, is there a chance this could be a load of bull, and would their be any harm in swapping the pendant light fitting back to "normal bayonet" fittings so they can use the normal stick low energy bulbs ??

as an owner of both, the best way to describe the hornet is its like a norty unschooled horse that will do what it feels like when it feels like it, and for that reason i love it, the fazer on the other hand is like a well schooled horse, show it a corner, and you are round and off onto the straight before you know it, it will always do what you ask it to in a well mannered way, i love them both for very different reasons, and the tank size was never really an issue, most people i rode with wanted a fag stop anyway lol

well you can buy from a large company like wemoto or support nooj - pricewise the difference is the psotage, but then a one man band cant afford to offer free postage

oh we are lucky enough to have 64 plots of "social housing" built on a former factory site at the back of our house, whilst some of them have been given to local people, we now have the cream of Nottinghams unwanted social problems living right behind us.  we are assured at the council meeting that these social houses were needed for "doctors, nurses, care workers" without whom we could not function as a town. why nottingham by the way in northants...... the houses were put out to tender, and there is a policy now to move certain families away from the area they came from to help them gain respect in a new neighbourhood !!!!!!!!!! and there was me thinking you earnt respect, buy not leaving sh*t everywhere

She did not know I was the landlord. He told her he was hard-up for money. She told him to keep the rent money as the landlord could do nothing about it for 3 months, and even after that, the court costs are so high that most don't bother chasing it, they just evict you and we'll get you another flat.

that is happening in Doncaster to a mate of ours, he rents his dads house out to 2 girls on social, at xmas they got the money from social but asked if there was anymore money as they has bills to pay and presents to buy, they told them to not pay the landlord all the money, keep what they needed to pay for other things, as it would be more hassle than it was worth to chase them for the money and the landlord could claim it back at £5 per week !!!!!!!!! (he is not a rich tory, his dad is in care, and he cannot leave the house empty it will get broken into, or sell it, as his father will not let it be sold, so he thought he would rent it out

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Been Quoted for an engine replacement... Helpp !
« on: 24 January 2012, 12:17:25 pm »
Lumpy - its what deefer does for a living, 75% of the bikes he works on are fazers, hence he knows how to get them out as easily as possible, but there are always difficulties with the exhaust studs mostly, so the fact that kinggy knows his are loose helps.  anyway if you need him he is just outside Thrapston on he A14

£150/£180 if all the exhaust studs are loose, its 4-5 hrs if the bloke has never done a fazer engine before he will take longer, i think Deefer can do it in his sleep now.  they come out of the frame a certain way easily and a certain way a pig.

really chuffed, a while ago i filled out a form following a trade exhibition we had attended, there was a prize draw, but i just wanted to let them know some really frustratingly bad bits about the 2 days there, as well as some good, i got a phone call, could i help with a phone interview to expand on what i had written, it would take about 30 mins and i would get £25 cheque, idid and the cheque duly came, same lady phoned me today to say i have won the top prize - an ipad - chuffed or what :) :) :) :)

yes tori, i think all the admin have, and as the writer says some other "gp heroes" on the site, they are after something a little different read here

Specifically, he's after 100 - 150 words (by 'phone or e-mail) saying how someone has had their life changed for the better by becoming a Fazer 600 owner.

I'm sending the same query to another half dozen or so mods/admins/GP Heros off the forum in the hope that someone will be willing and able to help out, or at least point him to another forum member who can.

following a used test thing on an FZS600. Will need a suitable pic – modified bike? FZS in Africa? Long distance? High miles? Track day bike?
