I do and always would, re the personal choice thought if you die it effects more people than you in so many ways so I think its right to be law :)

I do not directly endanger anyone else on the road if I do not wear a helmet - if indirectly affecting people was used as justification we wouldn't be allowed to drink , smoke , eat red meat , and do any dangerous pass times
And as for the firemen and paramedics - boo hoo - thats what they are paid for
 ! Lol

« on: 19 June 2013, 03:24:13 pm »
Do you still drill extra compession 'vent' holes with this emulator or will enlarging the existing two to 8mm be enough?

Also is the emulator pre load measured in full turns (tightening the spring) from when the treaded alenkey bolt is flush with the bottom of the nut on the underside of the emulator?

It happened to me that. My tank had rotted through, and there were tiny holes forming in the bottom of the tank which started seeping fuel out.
I did a temp repair with chemical metal, and that lasted for a couple of years! : :)

The same thing happened to me - initially thought it was the tank breathers but then when I lifted the tank I could see the temp repair made by PO.

Its worth lifting the tank just to rule it out - not a disaster if it is - dont bother with repairing just get one off ebay

they look similar - wow you must have small hands if they are too far away on the lowest setting - I don't know what to suggest

I got some off ebay from China - the quality is amazing and I opted for the fast postage ( which cost no more!) and they arrived in a week which is quicker than some stuff from the south of England.

Take a look at the below link - in my opinion they are as good as my pals Titax levers which cost a lotmore

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Thou shock
« on: 11 June 2013, 09:27:07 pm »
Its an FZS 1000 shock - will be swapping the spring for the 600 one and tickling the mount and preload ring with a grinder as per the previous thread - with a bit of luck should be an improvement - standard shock not really up to the challenge presented by my " slender" frame!

What's not to like about a silver bike with a blue bagster cover and tiger stripe mudguard, I ask you!?

Whats the front mudguard off?

"changing up from 1st under heavy load high in the rev range." ?

Why would you change 1st to 2nd high in the rev range - you shouldn't be nailing it in 1st - its pointless even if you are trying to have a fast get away!

Short shift fist to second using the clutch and from there on take it up to about six and a half in each gear and slip through the next gear with a slight momentary dip off the gas  and no clutch - just remember to use the clutch on the way back down the box!

You just have to face the fact that its nothing to do with the bike and just the passage of time catching up with you - I find stopping every 200 miles and partaking in motorway service station aerobics helps.

I have also perfected the on bike stand and stretch - however it seems to alarm cagers when done whilst overtaking on the autobahn !

I did the same - it was cheaper to get a second hand set of mph clocks of fleabay than to buy a converter or overlays

General / Insurance companies
« on: 03 June 2013, 11:28:56 am »
Like a good boy i rang up my insurer today to tell them my Recent mods to my bike - only to be told I was not insured and would have to take out a new policy  - I hung up in a huff!

A couple of hours latter I had cooled down and rang back to sort it out - this time a different person dealt with me who told me it was ok on my policy and there was no need to change at all - so I decided to own up to a couple more mods - happy now!

My point is if you get a bad deal its worth ringing back again as you may just had a shit head dealing with you the first time !!!!!!
