Gum Gum or new pipes ?
« on: 01 November 2011, 10:50:13 pm »
Hi Chaps,

Dilema time... I have a gen 1 and was interested to know if anyone had any experiance of using Gum Gum to cover a hole in the downpipe ? It's this or some new stainless Delkevic ones i have seen on ebay ? does anyone have preferance or experiance of either ?

Cheers chaps

farting around with Gum will only be temporary and for me is a waste of money.

The standard downpipes rot too badly for bodging paste to do much good, I've just fitted the sandy bike spares stainless downpipes via ebay and they fitted great, add a delkevic end can and it sounds nice too.

I went as far as buying a tin of gum gum but gave up before trying. Instead ended up buying downpipes and end can from Motad through ebay. If not on there, give them a ring as it was cheaper than both Sandy and Delkevic at the time and I'm very pleased so far. Also, remember to ask for the gaskets  :)

I weighed up the motad vs sandy bike spares bit and once you include the gaskets they were within a couple of quid so went local, I believe the sandy pipes are made local too.
