Thanks for the responses chaps, Nikwax and Renapur seem to be pretty widely recommended, I did a quick google about using Vasalene which suggested it could be problematical by stopping the leather from breathing properly. You'll be pleased to know I ignored all your advice and have purchased some Skidmores Leather Cream after reading
this article and finding positive reviews of the stuff online, I'll let you know what I think once it arrives.
Am I the only one that doesn't do anything with my leathers.
But on the other hand anything I say has to be remembered in he context of ---- 1,500 miles per year in the dry !
I'm a fair weather rider also but by all accounts leather does benefit from aftercare, as with most things I'd find expensive to replace I tend to look after my bike kit in the hope that it lasts longer and continues to function as it should throughout its lifetime.
