Motorcycle Leather Care Products
« on: 07 June 2016, 09:21:08 pm »
Looking for some recommendations for leather care products - cleaner & conditioner. I have been using Autoglym products which are about to run out so didn't know whether to get more of the same or if there was anything that was any better.

I've got something similar, I use it on gloves and boots mainly as I usually wear textiles; the water just beads off.

Cost me a tenner, four years ago and still have loads left.

Thanks for the responses chaps, Nikwax and Renapur seem to be pretty widely recommended, I did a quick google about using Vasalene which suggested it could be problematical by stopping the leather from breathing properly. You'll be pleased to know I ignored all your advice and have purchased some Skidmores Leather Cream after reading this article and finding positive reviews of the stuff online, I'll let you know what I think once it arrives.

I'm a fair weather rider also but by all accounts leather does benefit from aftercare, as with most things I'd find expensive to replace I tend to look after my bike kit in the hope that it lasts longer and continues to function as it should throughout its lifetime.

Nope, my thanks are purely for that finest confection of pastry, jelly and meat available. I live in Devon, home of the cream tea which doesn't float my boat as much.
