Had mine since new, now 12 years old with 70 thou on her, only recently had to change clutch,

If you think these are slow you best get your arse to next years Spring meet and come out for a play

A proper mans bike, big, heavy and loads of fun and good on juice
What more can you want, will even play when loaded up
Fooking hell , Fergus then Heath getting like overspill from XJROC on here

If you use a camera, make sure you drive/ride like a saint or the footage can be used against you.

How exactly ?
Surely you wouldn't submit any camera footage that could be used against you as evidence.
If my camera captured that sort of footage about me (I don't ride/drive like a twat though) I would delete it immediately.

You may not always have the time to edit/delete footage, know these guys were a bit extreme but you get the idea

Had two XJR 1300s, big comfortable mile munchers, can be tweaked quite cheaply to get 120BHP+ on rear wheel, poor rear suspension, fitted Hagons to mine, thing to remember is its not an RI so it aint gonna ride like one, having said that surprised quite a few sports bike riders when i had mine, they see you in mirror give it a big handful to leave you for dead then look really surprised when you still in their mirrors, best place for info is here http://www.yamahaxjrownersclub.com/phpBB3/index.php  bike feels like it really needs a sixth gear but gearing can be played with, mine had a Barnett clutch to avoid clutch slip and clutch slave seals need replacing now and again, engine is fairly bullet proof tho

Recalling an episode of "Wheeler Dealers" Mike had some wheels dipped (they did look fooking awful) and also had some Range Rover bits done on another episode, pretty sure they were lacquered after dipping to protect em

« on: 19 August 2016, 04:02:52 pm »
Fixed the bastard dodgy plug and socket under the tank that caused me to breakdown at work yesterday  :(  had broken down once before a few weeks ago (no ignition lights everything dead) but tweaked all plugs and sockets near battery and it all came back on, cleaned em all in switch cleaner and thought job was a good un, (until last night) if you have a older bike, mine is 2002 gen 1 Fazer 1000, it might be as well to do a bit of preventive maintenance under the tank  :)

« on: 03 August 2016, 10:59:31 am »
Just a note for those who are now buying bikes fitted with the r6 shock
I have had a few requests for change of settings which I'm happy to share I require no payment for this instead a small fee of 5 quid to be paid to help for hero's which can b done online this helps a needy cause and sorts out the correct settings for your weight and ride style
Just did this with Luke, well worth a fiver and help much appreciated as I did not even buy the shock from him, most people would have said "bugger off and get settings from the guy you got it from"  :D

As above, can be rough as you like as only wanted for rebuild, more importantly gotta be cheap and (hopefully) in or around Manchester so I can collect
Cheers

Just got one of these
https://www.rst-moto.com/rst-pro-series-adventure-ii-jacket.html
more vents than u can shake a stick at, 2 rear, 4 front, two of which roll open, and full length vents on sleeves, should be £250 but got mine half price as one of press studs was missing on front, press stud repair kit £5-99 of E Bay and all good, best jacket i have ever owned  8)
I can not have one of those as I do not have a tiger type adventure bike - that's the law isn't it.
Goes well with a silver 1000, colour coded  :D

« on: 20 July 2016, 09:34:12 am »
Had the exact same problem Sun, had started bike Sat night as going out Sunday and all was well, pal arrived Sun, pushed bike out of garage and no start, no ignition lights, put jump box on, no joy, everything dead  :(  however hazards were working o/k, turned out to be bad connection on white plug and socket under left hand side cover (when sat on bike) dose of switch cleaner and all well again, did 240 miles + on Sun, no problems, have now pulled every connector on bike and applied switch cleaner so hopefully no more problems  8)
