clutch/mirror bracket
« on: 29 September 2013, 10:54:58 am »
Does anyone know if there's a clutch bracket with a mirror mount that will fit on the gen 1 to allow me to fit mirrors on the handlebars.

I`m sure there was a guy on here that had fitted some of a Kawasaki GT750, anyone else remember?

PS. Why am I stuck at work for a 12 hour shift when the sun is shining? The weather gods hate me!

Thanks for the replies,i was looking at the mounts on the ebay but it looks like its a tight fit between the bars and the clutch bracket, how close did you manage to get yours to the clutch.

fz8 is the mount you want.... it is identical to the fzs 1000 clutch mount in every way except you can  screw a mirror into it as well.

you can transplant the micro switch and metal detent thingy onto the fz8 one.... handlebar mirrors are the best mod i have done to my fazer imho

This is what I did. There's just enough room to fit, even on the standard OE bars.

I fitted one from a naked gen2 1000,  it's identical other than the mirror mount, so a straight swap.

What are the advantages to puttig your mirrors on the bars instead of on the fairing?

machined a new pivot bolt for the clutch and got a set of fz6 ,i think, mirrors as they have the correct left and right hand threads, but im sure that the street triple ones also fit

Got a Price of £20.00 for an fz8 mount, tried barend mirrors and didn't like them.I have a streetfighter short screen and the original mirrors look odd with it.

Been watching this thread with interest as i stupidly went down the cheap mirrors route & they are absolutely crap.
Just bit the bullet & got some genuine  Yamaha XT660 mirrors for £40.

I may need a bracket though also as my original Female end on the brake lever is a bit mushed up.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

The mount from the FZ8 works beautifully.

The OEM part number from the states is - 1B3-82911-00-00

The mirrors are Rizoma Limit Naked or Limit Sport (they both look the same on their website and I can't remember which one I bought).

Anyway - great investment and work so much better than the fairing mount junk.

A few more pics - sorry for the thread hijack.

That's why I said "investment".

They are top notch and extremely adjustable. :D

FZ 1 N (Gen II) would fit, try breakers to avoid stupid Yamaha prices.
Or try MT 09 if you want latest available !
