FZS600 Fazer / bucket list - NC500 holiday?
« on: 24 January 2017, 06:22:40 pm »
Having passed my test last year I've booked accommodation for a week's trip north this summer - heading from Cambridge to Inverness and intend having a wander round the most northern parts of this green and pleasant land.

Any helpful advice gratefully taken on board.... :)

....such as would this help? - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-motorcycle-cruise-control-motorbike-throttle-assistance-UK-SELLER-/140938809377?hash=item20d09b9021:g:um8AAOSwZtJW8nKL

The symptoms on my bike - bear in mind I’m a rider back after 35 years in a cage and fings ‘ave changed……
One of the first things I did after passing my test was I had the bike fully serviced inc. TPS reset, and the first disturbance in years obviously put it out of kilter. A few days after the service I started on a run to work and 10 minutes in the engine starts running very slightly rougher and the rev counter starts rotating between the revs I was doing, 5k and zero, changing every 10 seconds or so.
I carried on riding,(carefully watching and listening) bike still seemed to go ok, and as soon as poss got stuck in here to see what anyone else had experienced.
(go to top of thread…) fitted new TPS and adjusted, Bob’s your uncle – everything still good couple of hundred miles later, glad it was a relatively easy fix.

Bought and fitted (well, got the engineers to fit...) a cheapo top box onto my Renntec rack.

This one:

about £35 all in, seems ok, time will tell, good so far, does what it says on the tin.

Yesterday rather than today, rode in to work and met up with big brother!
After, took up to Deefer's for a complete overhaul (fluids, plugs, filters, brakes, brake lines, calipers & pistons and a carb balance) over the next few days
Hope to end up with a bike that drives the way it looks  :)

Introduction / hi all
« on: 11 June 2016, 03:17:00 pm »
Hi all, Newbie but oldie here from Cambs.
Blatted across London twice a day on my RD200 and L plates when it was legal....yep, that old......and decided 40 years later to take my test having been offered first dibs on an exceedingly slow (blue) sub-5k miles mint 03 FZS600 Fazer, pics below (hopefully). Whilst going through test process I lurked a bit on here, and passed my Mod 2 last tuesday, sliced my right hand wednesday, can't even get it to an MOT testing station for a fortnight. Duh!
I'll be a fair weather rider, up for social stuff, and hope to stick my two penn'eth in here and there on the forum
Garry
