And do a good job of cleaning.
The reservoir did not empty so no air got in from the top. Calapers and pads back in and re attached to forks, I have pumped the leaver and but obviously its going to need bleeding.
But will I have to do both sides I am thinking that the other side will be ok.
If it matters its braided lines two piece via a double banjo at the reservoir
I am dreading undoing the bleed nipple for fear of it snapping, I have some penetrating liquid sitting on the thread.

However for peace of mind a replacement would be nice. ( Part no: 5RT 131610000) Looking at previous posts from some years back, it seems this part is unobtainable. Looks like the best practical option is a HEL flexible pipe for £40.00. Is this the general consensus these days or anyone else found a better alternative. TIA.

Just had the Fazer out for a test ride after a full frame swap... ride went great but she dumped a load of coolant on the garage floor out of the expansion tank vent pipe when I got back!!!
now... 64 million dollar question... is it worth going... cap... thermostat... before I go head gasket??? There is quite a build up of pressure when opening the cap... even now when it is cold... I will try and post a diagram of how I have installed the pipework... most have been changed for new from AS3...
I want to be replace it as a set to be able to use the same key for both the gas cap as the ignition switch once replaced.

However here in the Netherlands I can't find any ignition switch + gas cap set for the 2002 model, but there is one available for the 2001 model.
Is there any difference in these two parts? The part# are different for both models, but they look very similar if not the same if you ask me.
Part# for FZS600 2001:
For those that dont know me - I do not ride in the wet and any do about 700 miles a year so I dont need a high mileage touring tyre or one that's great in the wet.
Currently its a Metzeler sportec M7RR. and its done 6,600 miles - after 8 years so I dont want a hard wearing tyre as its old before its warn.

Thinking of the M9rr
But now looking at the Bridgstone T31 or 32 or s23 or s22

What are peoples thoughts please

Hi... After a rebuild... I have noticed that when I turn the ignition off, the clock resets to 1am every time I turn the ignition back on... not a major... just wondering whether it is indicative of something I have missed or something???
cheers
hope everybody is well... the weather is just starting to improve here in France and the Fazer is now on french plates... So I can rag around the French countryside without wondering if I am going to be stopped for UK plates..lol

Greetings,

very randomly I ducked to check out my bike and I noticed (after a long time figuring it out) a rubber part, that is the air guide/spart plug cover with the ID 4YR-2137Y-01-00, hanging low a bit and touching the engine, specifically the valve cover. According to other photos I found online, only the triangular spiky part should be visible from the sides, while mine are touching the hot engine. The flaps that are hanging don't have attachment points and I guess should be tucked in somewhere, but I don't know where.

Please google the ID so you get a better picture if you'd like to help, because I don't know why can't I upload photos here.

Thank you in advance.

Hi!

Can I use the clutch (outer basket, inner basket, springs, bearings) from a 2002 FZS on my 1998 bike? I noticed that the springs on the '98 model are smaller than the ones on the 2002 model and by some info that I found here Yamaha changed those springs but thats all they changed?

The metal clutch plates have a specific orientation to go in? I noticed that one of the sides has sharper edges.

My 98 model rattles a lot and mabybe this 2002 set helps reducing that issue.
