Dissambling / Reassembling gas cap

Hi all, 

I dissambled the gas gap of my FZS600 to clean it and remove all the rust. I am now left with a small spring and a tiny ball I don't understand where they go. Those are the pieces in red in the picture attached.

Does anyone know where they go when remounting?

I'm also not sure or the orientaiton of the blue part. Should the big ball be placed like on the picture and the plastic 8shaped too?
