I was figuring out how some new gadgets could make my riding on the FZS600 more enjoyable.
Wanting direct visual access to an analog clock, outside temperature, easy Bluetooth control of the headset, and the DOT...
The DOT is a visual signal (flashing) of a warning system for approaching risks. That could be an from behind approaching police car with sirens and flashing lights, the fire department, approaching an accident scene, traffic jams, but also a speed camera (!). I know, but I am not a notorious and frequently fined speed maniac. The last fine was more than ten years ago for exceeding the speed limit by a not-so-scandalous 7 km/h.
The DOT is controlled by the Flitsmeister app (with a subscription). I have installed the app on my smartphone (in the tank bag). This way, I do get a warning (not very audible due to hearing problems) over the headset, just as I do now visually via the DOT. I will mount the DOT onto the RAM-mount ball on the bar using a RAM mount system and a cradle. I haven't received the (strongly) magnetic cradle yet.
But... There isn't much room to secure everything neatly, so I looked for a solution in an extra bar on top of the handlebar risers. And this is what it looks like.
