Long Time Fazer Owner

Hi Everyone - I've been riding the same Fazer 600 foxeye since 2004.  Based between West London (Brentford) and Cambridge.  Mostly short trips in and around town - with the very occasional tour.

Have often checked the forum for advice over the years - but never joined as I never felt a need to post anything.  Bike got stolen last night - and now keen to get advice from the club on how to replace my lost treasure.  Will try to find the right subgroup to post that question !

Welcome and sorry about the bike, that shit never gets any less infuriating, which is compounded by the police seemingly doing fck all about it.

Thanks.  It is infuriating as it is an old bike and will probably just be joy ridden.  But I maintained it really well over the years and it was perfect.  Anyway - I think best way to get over it is to get another bike !

Welcome to the Forums, just a shame it had to be under such circumstances Sad

What are you looking to get next? Another 600? Something bigger?

What do you do on it, commute, ride for fun, trackdays?

Do you want to stick with carbs or get fuel injection?

Hi Graham

I've just posted a question on the general forum looking for advice.  I'm a bit rusty on the current bike market.  I'm in my 50s and the bike for me is mostly a work horse.  Occasional commutes, trips into town, airport (love the free parking at Heathrow !) and about 3 or 4 times a year something longer for a day or two riding 2/300 miles per day.  I loved how the fazer handles in traffic while still being stable and quiet enough for 70 on the motorway.  I had a double screen which worked great.

What I'd really like most is just to have my old bike back.  But failing that - it is probably time to move to fuel injection and maybe even ABS.  I like the look of the FZ8 - and they seem remarkable value.  But I get the sense that they are not popular on this forum ! And I am quite liking the Tracer 7.  Which although not a Fazer - feels like a cousin in the same mould.
