New tyre Time - fazersharp - 27-03-26 Hello again everyone - been a bit busy for a few months but I am still here shiny side up so far. I need a new rear, For those that dont know me - I do not ride in the wet and any do about 700 miles a year so I dont need a high mileage touring tyre or one that's great in the wet. Currently its a Metzeler sportec M7RR. and its done 6,600 miles - after 8 years so I dont want a hard wearing tyre as its old before its warn. Thinking of the M9rr But now looking at the Bridgstone T31 or 32 or s23 or s22 What are peoples thoughts please RE: New tyre Time - b1k3rdude - 27-03-26 Conti's have become over priced in the last few years, Have a look around for PilotRoad4's that are close to thier sell by date. I got a set for my FZ1 a year ago for £230 fitted. RE: New tyre Time - fazersharp - 27-03-26 (9 hours ago)b1k3rdude Wrote: Conti's have become over priced in the last few years, Thanks for that. My worry is that they will have been "on the shelf" for a couple of years already - considering my M7s lasted me 8 years. Am I right in thinking that the Road 5s are not available in 110/70/17 as I am now looking at getting front and back RE: New tyre Time - agricola - 27-03-26 Im currently on S22s, no problems, good grip, ridden on track, decent wear. S22s have been superceeded but still available so you might be able to find a good price on them RE: New tyre Time - fazersharp - 27-03-26 (1 hour ago)agricola Wrote: Im currently on S22s, no problems, good grip, ridden on track, decent wear. Under 4 of 5C it takes a little longer to warm up, but when up to temp you can nearly feel the grip when pushing on the twisties RE: New tyre Time - fazersharp - 27-03-26 (26 minutes ago)unfazed Wrote: I'm on my third set of M9RRs, fantastic tyre, great grip wet or dry. Give me a chance to give normally un accessible areas a clean and to re grease the speedo thing. |
