Carb Leak - geoffb - 10-12-25

Hi all,

My Box Eye had been laid up for a while and I have now replaced the battery.  She starts and runs fine but carb #3 is leaking slowly through the overflow while running.  I have a fair bit of experience with 40+ year old 2-strokes with carbs and assume the same float valve issues exist on the 4-stroke carb based Fazers too.

Any tips on what to look for and replace when I take a look over the Christmas holidays?  I’m assuming the float valve and float bowl gasket as a minimum.  Would you do all 4?

All the best

Geoff

O-rings perished cracked or gone hard is usually reason.

Sizes
Float valve: 7.5mm ID x 1.5mm cross section
Main Jet: 5.5mm ID x 1.5mm cross section
Viton is the best option for the O-Rings
