6th gear indicator light - Wobbly - 29-11-25 I've got a Datatool gear indicator fitted to my 2004 Fazer 1000 but it's becoming unreliable (the indicator, not the bike). I was thinking of replacing it for a new one but then it occurred to me that all I actually need is a light that illuminates when I'm in 6th (to prevent me from trying to change up into a non-existent 7th gear). I don't need to know which gear I'm in otherwise. I've read about the inner workings of the Multigauge designed by Christian Vieth (Schlumpf) on his info-packed website. Christian has very helpfully shared the ratios of pulse frequencies from the sensors for engine rpm and for speed for each gear - I'm only interested in that for 6th - and as far as I understand, all that would be required would be the means to calculate the ratio in real time, compare it with one stored in a register, and then illuminate an LED or activate a relay when the current ratio equals that pre-stored for 6th gear. Has anyone done this already? If not, does anyone here have the necessary knowledge? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. RE: 6th gear indicator light - Trebus - 30-11-25 Can’t help but it’s a nice idea to have the 6th gear light. I have a multi gauge which is a great bit of kit. Shame no longer available. |
