2000 Fazer FZS 600 - David Evans - 18-06-25
The bike had been standing for 12 months with fuel in tank with an additive, she did not fire up changed fuel started after a time,but will not idle only if you keep choke on revs, ok any suggestions to my situation thanks.

Sounds like the carbs are clogged and would benefit from a clean - blocked idle jets.

Thanks for the reply I forgot to mention that I had cleaned the carbs look's like I need to take another look at them.

Did you balance the carbs after and reset the TPS?

Blocked pilot jets, very difficult to clean as they are not a straight hole, but have a star/web structure inside. Soak in Carb cleaner over night in a sealed container to prevent Carb cleaner evaporating. Blow them through from both directions. Maybe soak them again for a few hours and blow them through again. A ultra sonic cleaner is good if you have acces to one.

The important thing with the TPS is to adjust it after balancing the carbs and setting the idle speed.
The 600 is one of the easiest bikes to adjust the TPS on. You just need Securty Torx bit No. 25 and driver for the bit
Turn on the ignition with the Kill switch on,
Disconnect the TPS and reconnect it
The Tacho needle will go to 0, 5,000 or 10,000 revs
The correct position is 5,000
If at 0 or 10,000 loosen the Security Torx bolts a little and move it forward or backwards.
When it is set to 5,000 tighten the bolts bot be carefull not to overtighten them.
If it moves when tighten adjust it to the 5,000
When your happy with the adjustment and all is tightened up turn off the ignition.
Thats it
Disconnecting the TPs with ignition switched on puts it into Diagnostic mode, turning off the ignition resets it.
