Live 12v Feed for USB outlet - BSR67 - 25-03-25
All,
I'm seeking to install a 12v positive feed for a USB outlet on my trusty Fazer Thou.
The kit can of course be attached direct to the battery, but I'd rather splice into a positive feed via a soldered joint - have done this before on a VFR800 on the rear brake light circuit.
Is there something super accessible in the front fairing? What have others done?

Maybe slightly overkill but my solution was to fit a small auxiliary fuse box under the seat. Rear brake light feed powers a relay with main 12v supply directly from battery.
I now have independent circuits for spot lights, usb charger and a 12v socket for powering my tyre inflator.

I use a switched fuesbox too. I've got 4 auxiliary outlets that need switched power, and the Oxford pre wired fusebox is purpose built for bikes?

This is the fusebox I used. It's about the size of a box of 10 cigarettes, and is pre wired with live that goes to the battery, earth and switch + wires. It even tells you when the junction is live with a little LED. Great bit of kit I've used on a couple of bikes now

That's great Steviest - I may order this and cancel the Amazon one I've ordered (pictured above in the thread).
Where does the single red wire wire to? I'm guessing the unit connects to the battery and provides the power, but the red wire I assume goes to a positive feed switched feed - i.e. the rear brake light?
Did you have any luck with the Givi Pannier Racks from the chap on eBay?

Yep the single red wire goes to any switch live. Can't remember what I spliced into, but the brake light live is as good as any.
As for the pannier rack, he's not got any in stock at the mo, so I'm gonna make some I reckon. Won't cost me more than £20 and a bit of welding.

That's a damn shame on the pannier racks - I only bought mine last weekend and he said he had two sets ............

I didn’t show it on the diagram but you want an inline fuse on the supply side of the fuse box as well.
