Gear lever movement - RichardS - 26-02-25

Hi all, not sure if this is a common fault, but my gear lever seems to have a lot of movement side to side. It's a 1999 600, the crinkly washer is present & there doesn't appear to be a brass sleeve that can be changed. I've checked out rear sets online & the cost is eye watering. Does the gear lever or footrest wear quicker than the other?
Thanks in advance

metal on metal will wear and mine moves side to side a little too. Best bet other than trying to find a good second hand set is to take it to a mchine shop and get then to fit a brass insert

As bbbrown says, but there is also a wavy washer on the inside (I think) which wears away, often completly, which makes it feel worse. Yamaha part number 90206−17084
