Gen 1 Side Stand - old son - 30-06-24 Has anybody had a problem with the side stand on their Gen 1? My bike seems to lay over more than it used to. Is there a chance something is worn and could break allowing the bike to fall over. There does not seem to be anything lose. I presume a second hand one could be just as worn? Re: Gen 1 Side Stand - Wyld Stallyns - 30-06-24 Funny you should mention that old son. I was thinking the same, just checked and there is obviously some wear in the stand pivot. Quite a bit of side play. ![]() Re: Gen 1 Side Stand - Grahamm - 01-07-24 I don't have a Gen 1, but the side stand on my FZ6 once sheared off where the stand connects to the pivot! :eek Re: Gen 1 Side Stand - MeteorStorm - 02-07-24 Having the same problem and don't know the solution. Please advise ![]() Re: Gen 1 Side Stand - Trebus - 02-07-24 Probably just some wear unless there’s different shock / linkage which will affect things. Might be easier to get a side stand foot, either bolt or weld on job. Probably easier to start using centre stand RE: Gen 1 Side Stand - robbo - 07-07-24 I have an extended side stand to compensate for the 50mm jack up that I prefer. If you could get another stand and get a cut and shut done to lengthen it to your requirement. Shouldn’t be too expensive. |
