Can the head be skimmed on fazer 1000 gen 1?

Are you doing this to increase compression ratio or because you suspect the head is warped?

I seem to recall that a better solution to increase compression ratio is to use an R1 head gasket (possibly a competition gasket).  To get the best results the cams need to be degree'd differently, too.

Head gasket blown and suspect head may be warped. No tuning just standard

Is she boiling also off the coolant, or it's dripping onto the underside of the exhaust collector box? You'd probably smeel it before you see the drips. Happened to my first 1000, waterpump seal had been taken out too, as per this thread.

Sorry for long gap, not looked into motor yet, but 3 cylinders are down on compression. So suspect either head gasket blown or serious damage. Hence my original post to say, can the cylinder head be skimmed or not on gen. 1 1000

cant see why not, same for cylinders.. may need a thicker gasket to make up for whats been taken away tho..
