Is there oil in the bike?

Re: oil sight glass black - kwick-kwack - 02-09-21

Yes plenty but can't see through the glass and oil light on. Just done an oil change, put 3.5 litres in light on, put another .5 litres in and light still on

The oil sensors are very sensitive so just try adding a touch more, hopefully the glass will clear a bit with new clean oil in it

It's already got 1/3 extra in

From what you're saying there's now 8.5lts in there which is way too much and will completely fill the window.  Drain all the oil out and put back the correct amount half of the window. Start the bike let it idle for a few minutes, checking for leaks. Turn it off after couple of minutes check the oil level, top up to half if required.  Then do oil bolt gallery check as per the manual

The oil light level being on is a switch issue, often nothing more than dirty/carroded contacts. At worse the switch needs replacing.

are you sure its not overfull preventing you from seeing through the dirty oil?

The oil switch could be foocced as Gnasher says above.

Or the oil light may also be set to come on for extreme overfills

New sight glass is your best option and is about £20. Part number was  4h7-15361-00, but  it has been superseded by part number 2h7-15361-00.Don't know of any effective way of cleaning it or anyway of removing it with damaging it.

In the dim and distant past, I've used cotton buds on some bikes to clean the glass.

[/quote]As have I, Scotty, but the issue with the FZS600 is trying to get at it, you might be able to get at it with the sump off, which means taking the exhaust off. For a €20 it wouldn't be worth the trouble
