FZS600, 2004: Error Code 53 on Dash - FIXED - Irish_Sean - 22-03-21

Hi guys pretty new to all this so please have patience with me haha. Recently just did a basic service on my bike, replaced spark plugs, oil filter, air filter and flushed the coolant and oil and put new stuff in. Everything I used is what is recommended in the service/owners manual. The bike is a 04 Fz600

After the service the bike sounded and drove absolutely lovely. Parked her up and went to bed. Next morning I tried to start the bike and then noticed the immobilizer light flashed 5 long and 3 short and there is an error code on the dash. Error 53, the bike tries to start but sounds like the full pump or something is not doing its job. Any ideas to fix this would be much appreciated.

[edited title so link the issue and model etc - bkd]

Re: HELP!!! Error Code 53 on Dash - agricola - 22-03-21

Fault Code 53: Signal from immobiliser transceiver not being received by ECU.

Possible causes: Faulty wiring or wiring connector: Faulty immobiliser transceiver: Faulty ECU

I have a guess that while youve had the tank up, something in the wiring/connectors has been disturbed or not connected back fully. Double check all the electrical stuff that you touched, check fuses

Another member had that recently and it was due to having the spare key on the keyring at the same time as the usual key

Yeah I found the fault this morning and turns out to be a broken pin on the ECU, pin number 5, wire is yellow/blue and is related to immobilizer.
