I do like a bargain - darrsi - 13-08-20

I was looking for a new Michelin Road 5 rear tyre yesterday, and while searching i stumbled on this must have bargain.  :eek

Re: I do like a bargain - fazersharp - 13-08-20

I have seen this sometimes on Ebay with low cost items and it has been where the item is actually out of stock and instead of not listing it they list it as £999 or something. I wonder if it is to hold the listing in-place for some reason, to maybe maintain their presence or to let you know that they did have it - so try later.

I do have a rear Road 5 tyre "somewhere in Germany" at the moment.
Got it for £119 delivered which I thought was fairly reasonable.  Smile

I've been eyeing up a set of Pirelli Angel ST to try over the winter, £161 for the pair seems like a steal ?

Wow at this rate I'll have to buy two sets just to feel like I've actually spent money on them ? last time I bought a set together (Bridgstone t30s) I think it cost around £225 delivered

Re: I do like a bargain - coffee - 19-08-20

Well done you! I've just bought an addition to my ABBA stand that allows me to lift the front as well but with both of them costing around £150 I'd have done far better with that. :\

which ABBA stand do you have ?

Re: I do like a bargain - coffee - 21-08-20

just the normal superbike stand which was ok but if you wanted to work on the front end you'd have to jack the front up under the exhausts which I never liked doing but with this attachment you now get both wheels off and access to pretty much all of the bike is great! there's a pic of my bike on the stand in "our bikes" under "my beast" in the Media section.

Re: I do like a bargain - red98 - 21-08-20

ah,i see......ive been struggling for a few years now, crawling about on the floor working on my bikes. iam getting on a bit now so need a bit more comfort....best bit is the stand will raise the bike to waist height,no more bending down ......the stand i bought just has the wheel lift but ive been in contact with quasar the people who make it and they sell the footrest lift bracket separately, will then be able to lift the bike to waist height and take both wheels off...great for tyre changes and suspension work or just cleaning...when i get the bracket and check the stand over ill start a "bike lift thread"...

Re: I do like a bargain - coffee - 23-08-20

+1 to that! :thumbup
