Denali Soundbomb Mini - robbo - 02-06-20
Anyone have any experience of these. The oe horn on the bike is useless, but don't fancy fitting a relay, compressor etc. Just want a plug'n'play horn that can be heard. Your thoughts anyone

I've got one robbo , pretty easy to fit , I put the compresser where the exup motor was , but you could squeeze it in somewhere else as it's not to big , the relay goes by the battery, the rest goes in the original horn wiring. Nice and loud.

The Steel Nautilus is back on sale on Ebay again.
They disappeared from the UK market for quite a while.
Got mine bolted under the left fairing infill, away from direct water.

Yep, I noticed Stebel were available, but I didn't want the bother of the compressor and wiring in a relay. The Stebel Magnum is an option, but seems to fail quite quickly according to a few forums I've looked at. A youtube clip regarding the Denali Mini wasn't that impressive soundwise. Looks like to get a loud enough sound, it has to be via a compressor.

This is the better option by far, but as you said not been available for a good while.

Still way better than most standard fitted horns. Fiamm due horns are also a big improvement over standard.
Stebel nautilus is the way to go if you really want a loud horn. The wiring and positioning of the horn and compressor can be a bit of a faff, if you're not confidant with removing firing panels and wiring. You could always get someone to fit it for you, which may cost, but well worth it.
The Stebel Magnums I've replaced, have failed due to poor fitting and location, i.e. the outlet was mounted upwards and exposed to rain/weather.

I've looked at them many times but in the end I just fitted a two opposite tone standard horns ( 1 high pitch and 1 low) 110dbs apparently but in all honestly I've never used um.
I've never found a situation where a horn would be helpful ?♂️ just as quick to react to the environment. Same in a car, other than someone reversing who hasn't seen me, I can't think of a time I've used it other than in anger

I fitted my Stebel Magnum - straight swap with a longer bracket back in 2011 and still going ok although as Dudeofrude says it hardy ever used maybe twice a year - once on the way to the MOT and once by the MOT chap :lol
But actually I use it more on stupid kamakizi pigeons than anything else and sometimes a dosy car driver not checking his blind spot but usually I can see its going to happen and I was ready to evade and the horn was just to make him/ her wake up ( I already had my thumb over the switch).

If you ride in London or any heavy traffic location the horn is essential, quick prod will stop the car from side swiping you.

When I was out last Sunday it became apparent how crap the stock horn is, as needed to get the attention of one of my pals as he was about to make a wrong turn. Needless to say, he made a wrong turn :lol . Agree it only usually gets used twice a year, once before and during the MOT. It's the bulk/weight of the compressor models that I wanted to avoid, as I've got enough extra wiring and associated gubbins with sat nav, heated grips, usb charger etc. If the consensus is that the Magnum is noticeably louder than oe, I'll give one of those a go.
