gen 1 fazer notchy gear change - seano - 20-05-20 hi my 05 is a bit "notchy " through the gears and clunks when selecting first, never slips out of gear just have to be positive foot movement any ideas???? Re: gen 1 fazer notchy gear change - old son - 20-05-20 Probably needs the chain adjusting correctly. Check the manual. It would also be a good idea to lubricate the linkages. Re: gen 1 fazer notchy gear change - seano - 21-05-20 thanks but i have done that Re: gen 1 fazer notchy gear change - bludclot - 21-05-20 The gen 1 is seems sensitive to clutch its cable, I think it's because it goes through 4 angles between lever and housing. Is yours a genuine cable? If so it will need to be adjusted 'just so' for a smooth change and an easy to find neutral. I and others on this forum have tried after market cables and have promptly changed them for genuine. Re: gen 1 fazer notchy gear change - celticbiker - 21-05-20 Make sure your shift lever pivot is clean and lubed too. My fz8 gets notchy when it's ready for a lube.
