Removing crash bungs - Stinka - 07-05-20 Hi lads I went to remove my crash bungs and took the left one off, put the bolts back thru the engine mount and realised I needed either shorter bolts or thick spacers/washers to get the nut to butt up against something, due to threads not going far enough up bolts Can anyone spec me new bolts to order or spacers ? Just need length and width Cheers I’d have measured them but silly me lost my tape measure :rolleyes Re: Removing crash bungs - b1k3rdude - 07-05-20 are you not able to measure the exiting ones and then just add on the thickness of the bung mount..? Re: Removing crash bungs - FILZ6 - 07-05-20 Hello. Original engine mount bolts Gen1 Fazer 1000. 1x 10 mm bolt 110mm long. 2x 10mm bolt 115mm long. 1x 8mm bolt 115mm long. All measurements taken from under bolt head. Hope this helps. ![]() Re: Removing crash bungs - Stinka - 07-05-20 (07-05-20, 12:37 PM)FILZ6 link Wrote: Hello. Original engine mount bolts Gen1 Fazer 1000. Awesome thanks ! I take it they are the lengths Without the slider ? And bolt shank widths, not hex head widths ? Re: Removing crash bungs - vinnyb - 07-05-20 Don't forget, if you're not buying oe, which I always would with engine mounting bolts, they'll be 1.25 thread if you're going to keep the original captive nuts. Re: Removing crash bungs - FILZ6 - 07-05-20 Yeah standard length bolts. When you fit crash bungs you get longer bolts with them, well you do if you fit Yamaha ones. Yeah Bolt diameter, not the Hexagon head size. ![]() Off memory, I don’t think the nuts are captive. Re: Removing crash bungs - Billy Balthorpe - 03-06-20 Your memory is correct FILZ6. I've just swapped a set from one bike to another. They are not captive. |
