Rear suspension parts - Johnnylad123 - 26-04-20 I've found play in my rear linkage and wondered if anyone has the part numbers to get them from bearing suppliers rather than being robbed by Yamaha? Re: Rear suspension parts - SkidT - 26-04-20 I think if you do a search on here, you will find Marksman bearings or Bikebearings (same company I believe) recommended. I’ve used them before for rear linkage bearings with no problems and have just ordered front and rear wheel bearings from them. If you go to their website, search by bike make / model, it will show you the parts available for your bike. You’d be advised to do a bit of research on here Re this issue as well. I think I’m right in saying that it’s not uncommon to have a “little” play in this department. Some have iirc replaced numerous bearings in the rear linkage and still had a slight amount of play. So I guess it depends on how much play you’ve got and how far out of yamahas tolerance it is? I’m sure that someone far more knowledgable than I will be along shortly to enlighten you. Good luck. ? Apparently, it's quite normal for the FZS 1000 setup - obviously as long as it's not excessive / out of tolerance, as previously mentioned. Re: Rear suspension parts - Johnnylad123 - 27-04-20 Cheers for the help/advice chaps, much appreciated. Re: Rear suspension parts - Falcon 269 - 28-04-20 Marksman for the bearings but you will need to get the spacers from Yamaha. Try Fowlers online - there's a parts fiche on the website. As others have said, possible to replace everything and still have a little vertical freeplay. I seem to recall some owners torquing everything up with the rear wheel on the deck. You'd think that having it hang down freely on the centrestand would achieve the same effect, using gravity to pull the freeplay down instead but might be worth considering. |
