Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 19-06-19 Hi all, i am new to the forum, i have just passed my mod2 and after a lot of reading decided to purchase a 1999 Fazer 600 as my first big bike. i done most of my training on a XJ600 Diversion. The Fazer i have purchased is in brilliant condition and running order however the previous owner replaced the handlebars with Renthal 758 Ultra lows. I much prefer a more upright riding position and would like to ask what the best remedy for this would be ? i have seen some Rental 756 highs which i can get hold of or i was thinking of adding some raisers to my current setup, or maybe something else? any advice welcome, thanks. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - His Dudeness - 19-06-19 The factory bars give an upright position Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 21-06-19 Thanks, I have got a hold of some renthal 756 bars which I'm going to fit and see how it goes, hopefully won't have to get longer cables. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - mtread - 21-06-19 Best to avoid longer cables. You'd be opening up a can of worms. As said, standard bars are moderately upright. More so than 758s, and also not so wide. Should be plenty of used examples on ebay and around. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 21-06-19 Cheers for that Info, if I can get away with the 756 without messing with cables then sorted if not like you said I'll pick up some standard bars from eBay. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 30-03-20 thought id follow up on this, i got round to fitting the renthal 756 high bars and everything was ok apart from the brake pipe which was a bit stretched, i ended up getting a longer one and fitted it, prefect now. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Trebus - 30-03-20 Are you flogging the 758 ultra lows? Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 30-03-20 not unfortunately a friend of mine already grabbed them, :rolleyes Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Trebus - 30-03-20 Ok, thanks Qutuz. Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Qutuz - 30-03-20 welcome Re: Raised Handlebars advice - M.A.N. - 20-04-20 For me it worked perfectly by installing 30 mm raisers to the stock handle bar. Only the brake hose needs to be replaced (ordered a 400 mm long brake hose from BrakeQuip UK). Just note that the banjo thickness must be 8 mm to fit with the bolts. One end is angled 20 deg. Easy to replace. //Mats Re: Raised Handlebars advice - Disorderlypunk - 20-04-20 i think it was 756 i used, gave wezmoto a ring for new brake lines which were perfect Re: Raised Handlebars advice - butthead - 14-05-20 ive put one inch up and one inch back bar risers on the stock bar with oem cables , no problems , though bit tight on the brake hose tbf but after three years like that, no issues at all |
