Original fitment tyres - Pal - 14-12-18

Can anyone on here confirm the make and model of tyres that the FZS600 was fitted with from new?
Did it change between '98 and '03.

Re: Original fitment tyres - BMCfaz - 14-12-18

The earliest photo i have of my '01 600 has Bridgestone BT020s on it. They were probably the originals, because I've usually replaced tyres with Metzlers.
Couldn't say if Yamaha always used the same suppliers, though.

Re: Original fitment tyres - darrsi - 14-12-18

I was gonna say that the OEM tyres would be irrelevant now, as they have been surpassed and bettered many times over.

Re: Original fitment tyres - Fazerider - 14-12-18

Mine (bought new in 1998) came with Bridgestone BT57s.
I think in later years they used Bridgestone BT010s.

Re: Original fitment tyres - Jules-C - 14-12-18

Bridgestone BT57s were the original fitment for several years. I think the official manual also lists a Michelin as original fitment.

Re: Original fitment tyres - bandit - 14-12-18

Same here, 98 BT57s but mate had a 99 which had Dunlops, I remember the dealer telling him his bike was fitted with these instead of Bridgestones, whatever Yamaha had in stock maybe.

It should say in the owners manual, service manual or parts fische.

Re: Original fitment tyres - fazersharp - 14-12-18

My 98 defiantly had Bridgstones on it - didn't buy the bike new but they were the original can not be sure as to the code

Re: Original fitment tyres - BBROWN1664 - 14-12-18

Your 98 was "defiant" about its tyres Mr Sharp  :lol :lol :lol . Don't think mines ever been defiant about anything !

Re: Original fitment tyres - mtread - 07-01-19

My 2003, last of the Foxeyes had Dunlop somethings from new. They were terrible. First change was to Michelin Pilot Road 2s, and what a difference!

Re: Original fitment tyres - YamFazFan - 07-01-19

My 2003 Foxeye must be one of the last and that was originally fitted with the Bridgestone 020/021's

Re: Original fitment tyres - acid drop - 11-02-19

Bought a new FZ6 in 2008 and it came with dunlops
