Idle screw 600 - darrsi - 16-06-18 I've not really had a good look at it yet, 'cos it's not an immediate problem, but i went to adjust the idle screw yesterday just a tiny bit and it would appear to be a bit seized up, it wouldn't really budge at all and i didn't want to force it. But is there much to them? Is it just a WD40 job? My tickover is a fraction too high but not bothersome yet, so i was just wondering how i can free it up? Re: Idle screw 600 - Hugh Mungus - 17-06-18 You can use WD-40 but it's not the best penetrating oil. There's so many penetrating oils on the market I'm not going to suggest one to buy. I actually use a mixture of ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and white spirit (known to some as "Donkeys Piss" - I kid you not) as it is really good. Re: Idle screw 600 - Hugh Mungus - 17-06-18 Yep. I'm not too exacting about it but 50/50 is about right. I put it in one of those plant sprayer things that the Mrs doesn't know I nicked out of the shed... Re: Idle screw 600 - darrsi - 18-06-18 Doesn't really look like there's anywhere to get penetrating oil into, even more so as the bike leans to the left. I really don't want to force it either in case i break the plastic head. |
