Float bowl - reaper1064 - 27-04-18 Hi guys want to remove the bowl off the right hand outer carb without stripping them all off. Any one doe this and have any tips. Cheers. Re: Float bowl - Starfazer - 27-04-18 I think it should be possible with the right tools. Not easy, but possible. First, drain the carbs. Then you'll need a Philips No.2 driver mounted on something like a 1/4" ratchet wrench to get in there for the two inner screws. The two outer screws should be removable with a normal screwdriver. One of those flexible mirrors would be handy too. Re: Float bowl - reaper1064 - 27-04-18 Cheers mate Re: Float bowl - daviee - 27-04-18 curious why would you only want to remove one ? Re: Float bowl - reaper1064 - 27-04-18 The carb has I think has a small amount of crap in it, it fires on 3 at low revs and picks up on the main jet. Just want to pop it off to see the what's what. The original tank had bad corrosion in it, I've put a new onde on but suspect crap may be partially blockin a jet. Re: Float bowl - daviee - 27-04-18 you could prolly get it with a bit set with 75mm bits have you tried using the drain screw to see if it clears it Re: Float bowl - reaper1064 - 27-04-18 Not yet mate but will give that a go first. Last owner seemed to have been fixated on the look of the bike and not so much on the service side. Re: Float bowl - darrsi - 28-04-18 Shove a whole bottle of STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner in a full tank of petrol, it's the only cleaner i've ever known to actually work! Re: Float bowl - reaper1064 - 28-04-18 cheers mate. Could be arcing through the spark plug caps causing that too. A set of NGK's and trim the ht leads could help Re: Float bowl - reaper1064 - 28-04-18 Had new plugs in the last couple of weeks, couldn't hurt trimming the leads back a bit though. |
