Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Freza - 20-04-18 Hi all, I need 3 cooling pipes that got rusty over time and started leaking. These pipes are no longer being produced or sold as new. I named these pipes myself because even their names are no longer displayed, so pardon my liberty: 1. T-pipe, part no. 5DM124820000 / 5DM-12482-00-00, visible here as number 15: https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/yamaha-parts/2003-fzs600-fazer-motorcycles/water-pump 2. Small pipe, part no. 5DM125880000 / 5DM-12588-00-00, visible here as number 4: https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/yamaha-parts/2003-fzs600-fazer-motorcycles/radiator-hose 3. Long pipe, part no. 5DM124850100 / 5DM-12485-01-00, visible here as number 9: https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/yamaha-parts/2003-fzs600-fazer-motorcycles/radiator-hose For visual reference, I took pictures as well: ![]() ![]() ![]() My bike is 2003, but I think these pipes could work from 98+ models as well... If you have these pipes, please contact me, but only if they're in good condition ! Thanks Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Disorderlypunk - 21-04-18 seen your other post but posting here instead for future references the iten numbers above are slightly wrong (too long) fowlers list these as back order and are bloody expensive (if backorder is available) 5dm1258800 no2 5dm1248100 no9 https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/4181639/fzs600-fazer-5rt4-2003-070-c/radiator-hose 5dm1248200 no 15 https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/4181638/fzs600-fazer-5rt4-2003-070-c/water-pump dont throw the old ones away just yet because if you cant find any then there is still the option to have some fabricated i would probably go to a hydrolics engineering firm for this but i say that as there is one in my village so they are close Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Freza - 21-04-18 (21-04-18, 12:14 AM)Disorderlypunk link Wrote: seen your other post but posting here instead for future references The parts listed above are not available...they're nowhere available... Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - b1k3rdude - 21-04-18 For the hoses go to any car auto spares shop and just get a length of coolant tube the right diameter and length, problem solved. For the T-peices, any pipe hose place should be able to help - http://www.customhose.co.uk/ The above place is just up the road from me, and they have been helpfull in the past Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - bikemad - 21-04-18 Ive got those pipes pm me Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Mustang - 22-04-18 If they are just pinholes, then chemical metal is your friend. Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - unfazed - 22-04-18 Looks more like a hose leak, did you remove the larger hose to check it? I'll tell him to make sure it's not the hoses, but those pipes are rotten anyways... (22-04-18, 05:21 PM)Mustang link Wrote: If they are just pinholes, then chemical metal is your friend. Not sure this can be fixed by that. Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - unfazed - 22-04-18 I have never seen coolant pipes corrode before the downpipes gave up the ghost Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Mustang - 23-04-18 1000 has stainless down pipes Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - unfazed - 23-04-18 (23-04-18, 08:09 PM)Mustang link Wrote: 1000 has stainless down pipes Yes that is true, but that is not much good to Freza as he has a 600 and whereas the down pipes on the 2002/3 models are painted stainless the collector section for reasons only known to Yamaha is not and it rots, rendering the system useless. The usual sign is the carb heater circuit gets blocked, but if the bike’s only ridden in warmer temperatures that could go unnoticed. Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Freza - 23-04-18 What's a carb heater and how do I know if I have it, or if it's broken ? Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - unfazed - 24-04-18 All fazers have it, the Carburetors are heated by flowing coolant through the carburetors (different circuit to fuel and air) to prevent what is called Carburetor Icing in cold damp weather, which would effect the cold running at idle to 1/2 throttle. It happens when there is damp cold air (below 4C) and the water vapor freezes going through the carburetors. If you look closely at the front upper of the carbs on both sides you will see black hoses attached to the outer two. They go to the rear right side radiator (Small pipe) on the and thermostat housing under the tank. :thumbup Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Freza - 24-04-18 (24-04-18, 12:06 AM)unfazed link Wrote: All fazers have it, the Carburetors are heated by flowing coolant through the carburetors (different circuit to fuel and air) to prevent what is called Carburetor Icing in cold damp weather, which would effect the cold running at idle to 1/2 throttle. Nice, I'll have him check that as well. Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Disorderlypunk - 26-04-18 my carb heater hoses were blocked to buggery but as i was messing with the carbs all the time i just bypassed it, if you keep your bike in a garage then it isnt an issue and when it is really cold it isnt either as i was ridng in ice and snow the other month that didnt cause any issues (and im riding with pods which would make it worse) Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - Freza - 14-05-18 For now the problem is solved, thanks everybody, especially bikemad. Re: Wanted: In urgent need of cooling pipes - unfazed - 14-05-18 Any chance you might tell us how the problem was resolved?
